Alexandr recently returned from a successful ascent of Island Peak (6,189 m) in the Himalayas — a technically demanding climb that’s as much about mental resilience and trust in your team as it is about physical preparation. He shared photos from the summit and reflected on how the mountains continue to shape his perspective on life and leadership.
“My first experience in the mountains was when I was just seven,” Alexandr recalls. “My parents took me on a water expedition to the Zun-Murin River, and we had to carry our gear over a 50 km pass at 2,000 meters. That’s when my love for the outdoors truly began.”
For years, Alexandr’s focus remained on water sports — rafting, kayaking, and river expeditions. But after an injury made these pursuits impossible, he found himself drawn back to the mountains. Inspired by colleagues and driven by a desire to reconnect with nature, he transformed his lifestyle, losing 30 kg and setting his sights on the Alps: Zugspitze, Daniel, Gran Paradiso, and Grossglockner.

That passion soon took him further afield: Orizaba in Mexico, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and this year — the high-altitude challenge of Island Peak in Nepal.
“At altitude, everyday problems shrink. The simplicity of survival and progress teaches clarity and gratitude. You return a different person — more focused, more grounded.”
Alexandr also notes the importance of teamwork in the mountains, drawing a clear parallel to the world of tech leadership. “On a rope, you have to trust your partner completely — it’s not unlike working with a team during a high-stakes project. Everyone must know their role, and mutual support is everything.”

As we continue to grow and reach for new heights as a company, we’re proud to be led by people who know what it means to push limits, support each other, and keep moving forward — one step at a time.
